GCSE and A-Level Results
Over eight years, the proportion of top performers at GCSE in BCS has grown to impressive levels. In 2020, half the students achieved 7+ grades (equivalent to the former A-A*), while 98% scored 4+ (A-C). A-Level results at Bournemouth Collegiate School prove equally strong. In 2021, more than half earned A-A* grades, with 95% achieving A-C*. These outcomes reflect not only student dedication but also the supportive academic environment the school provides.
Value Added at Bournemouth Collegiate School
BCS distinguishes itself through how effectively it develops students’ academic potential. At the start of Years 10 and 12, pupils take Durham University’s baseline cognitive ability test. Results allow the school to predict likely GCSE and A-Level performance for each student. Over four years, BCS has achieved value-added scores placing it among the top 30% nationally and within the top 2.5% for A-Level.
Partnerships and Pathways
Bournemouth Collegiate School has formed partnerships with various performing arts and sports academies, including BIGLITTLE Theatre School and AFC Bournemouth. These collaborations give students distinctive opportunities to develop their skills and interests beyond the classroom. After graduation, BCS students have progressed to prestigious universities such as Cardiff, Kingston, and Exeter.
